SUMMARY:Historic Barns with Robert Kroeger
DESCRIPTION:The Logan County Land Trust and Logan County History Center will welcome back author and painter Robert Kroeger to the History Center for a program on historical barns in Ohio (and other states). Mr. Kroeger will not be demonstrating his palette knives and impasto painting technique\, like he did at last spring’s program\, but he will be discussing interesting and unique barns he has studied over the years. The program will last about 60 minutes and then Mr. Kroeger will be doing a book signing for his book HISTORIC BARNS OF OHIO (2021)\, which lists paintings and essays of barns in all 88 counties in Ohio. His book ROUND BARNS OF AMERICA (2022) will also be available for purchase and to be signed. The book features 75 round barns from 32 states. Funds raised from the book signings will go towards the LCLT and the LCHC. \nThe event is free and open to the public.

SUMMARY:Common Ground
DESCRIPTION:The Way International™ in New Knoxville\, OH is hosting a free showing of Common Ground at 6 PM on Saturday\, March 2\, 2024. Admission is open to the general public\, and refreshments will be served.\n\nThe film explores how Americans from different walks of life\, different political backgrounds\, and different parts of the country share one thing in common – the very soil beneath our feet. This hopeful and uplifting story of the pioneers of the “Regenerative Movement”  explores how to bring entire ecosystems back to life and unlock more (and healthier\, more nutrient-dense) food to feed America and the world\, while simultaneously restoring the natural cycles that regulate weather and climate. Investigating “regenerative” farming systems on both large to small-scale farms\, the movie cast includes: Laura Dern\, Rosario Dawson\, Jason Mamoa\, Woody Harrelson\, Ian Somerhalder\, and Donald Glover.\n\nAfter the film\, farmer and rancher Dr. Allen Williams will discuss the film and the regenerative agriculture movement planting across the country. Allen is the founding partner of Grass Fed Insights\, Understanding Ag\, and Soil Health Academy.\n\nThe Victor Paul Wierwille Word Over the World Auditorium is located at 19100 East Shelby Road in New Knoxville\, and a movie trailer and more information is available at: https://events.theway.org/commonground
