Two painted depictions of Logan County’s iconic timber frame barns, generously donated by barn historian and artist Robert Kroeger, are now on display at the historic Dr. Earl Sloan Library in Zanesfield. The display, sponsored by the Logan County Land Trust (LCLT), is a tribute to the county’s rich agricultural heritage and the beauty of its historic barns.
Barn Historian Robert Kroeger Returns for Special Presentation
On April 9, the Logan County Land Trust and Logan County History Center were thrilled to welcome back Robert Kroeger for an engaging program centered on historical barns in Ohio and beyond. Known for his distinctive palette knife painting technique and deep knowledge of barns, Kroeger’s previous demonstration last spring captivated audiences. While this time he will not be demonstrating his impasto technique, Kroeger will offer a fascinating 60-minute presentation highlighting unique barns he has studied throughout his career.
Following the program, Kroeger will hosted a book signing featuring his works Historic Barns of Ohio (2021) and Round Barns of America (2022). Historic Barns of Ohio showcases his paintings and essays on barns from all 88 counties in Ohio, while Round Barns of America features 75 round barns from 32 states. Zanesfield!
