Bruce Smith has been a teacher with Benjamin Logan Local Schools since 1985. During that time he has been involved in a number of conservation and environmental initiatives such as the Raptor Rehabilitation and Education Project, the creation of the school land lab, the development of a curriculum focusing on the Mad River, and Trout in the Classroom. In partnership with The Logan County Land Trust and other district educators, Bruce actively participates in The Benjamin Logan Environmental Science Club and its outgrowth, the EnviroCamp held during the summer at Kirkmont Center. The ESC seeks to engage students in a variety of lab activities, service projects , and career path exposure in order to foster and develop a sense of environmental stewardship in the youth we serve.
